JONAS KOPP - Anklad

Great techno tracks are tracks you can listen to for almost the entire duration. And "Anklad" is one of them. Yes techno is monotone, but that's the point. It's supposed to hypnotise you a little bit.  

"Anklad" has such an amazingly solid and pressing groove, it's addictive.

REEKO - Cyberpunk

This is not your typical a couple of horns, a couple of tingling bells and a bassline as fat as an elephant techno.

It has a few tingling bells, but its pitch and rhythm are perfect for this track.

I just love that nasty groove which sucks you right in. Then during the break; you hear this "3-2-1 go!" sound sample from race games and that high pitched piano slowly flows in like the tide. I just lost it. 

Even wrote this post before I knew the title of the track. 

KORELESS - Sun

This track goes deep. It's special and very powerful.

Constantly building up energy but never fully releasing it. Definitely not a track you can easily dance to. But it's not meant to be that. It's supposed to give you a feeling or get you in a certain state of mind. And it does exactly that in a very powerful way. Beautiful. 

EXPLOIT - Chordism

Now this is quality techno.

A fat sexy groove and a stomping bassline. 

FRITS WENTINK - Ezzo One

Do you know Frits Wentink? I sure didn't, but he's definitely on my radar now.

"Ezzo One" has a really rare and nice groove which sounds new. Kind of dreamy and spacey but in a different way. It's more like a vibe. I like it.

MARCKUS Live at Open Air 2013

Cant believe I waited three weeks to listen to this one. Because I knew this liveset would be awesome.

Marckus' style varies from laidback tech house to the more deeper, groovy and energetic house. During this set he only plays his own tracks of which more then half is unreleased. And, he does some sweet live keyboard improvisation. 

You gotta love the keyboard when he plays "Need To Know". It just enters the set into a whole new level. 

His track "Drugs Are Bad" (37 min.) and "Victory" (52 min.) are my personal highlights.

MANO LE TOUGH - Primative People (Tale Of Us remix)

Heard this track for the first time during Tale Of Us' Boiler Room mix. It grabbed my attention right away. Definitely a soon-to-be popular summer/festival track.

It has that typical weird Tale Of Us sound, weird but cool. 

The groove just keeps surprising me, it seems unpredictable. And I especially like those hypnotising bells in the background. They have such a cool rhythm.

From Dutch to English

Muziekbeer will continue to write in English from now on. 

The number of people who aren't from The Netherlands and visit my blog is alot higher now then it was two months ago.

So from now on, everyone will be able to read and understand what I write.

JAMES HOLDEN Live at Sonar 2012

Holden is de koning van elektronische muziek. Met zijn legendarische dj sets geeft hij je een reisje naar de maan en terug. 

Hij is iemand die je echt een keer live moet zien. Dit festival seizoen draait Holden nog op Into The Woods in Amersfoort. 

PHONIQUE - Fake It

Loungey house. 

Een nummer om in slaap op te vallen.

BEN KLOCK - Subzero

"Subzero" is kneiterdikke techno met een sexy groove. Misschien iets te sexy of funky voor techno. Maar dat is Ben Klock z'n stijl ook een beetje. 

Je hoort vaak zo'n vreemde sexy plaat in z'n setjes en dat is wel cool. Subzero is ondertussen meer dan cool, het is een klassieker.

Ben Klock is morgen te zien op Awakefest (29 juni).

Omar-S - Turn And Walk Away

Een langzame groover van Omar S. Het is bijna blues/jazz eigenlijk. Of de instrumental van een gruwelijke hiphop plaat.

Heel soepel nummertje dit. 

KINK - Rachel

Kink heeft vaak vrolijke deuntjes, hele toffe sound.

Rachel is een nummer dat je draait als je de zaal plat wilt krijgen. 

Het nummer neemt z'n tijd, maar na zes minuten sta je te dansen.

BASANOV & VIDIS - Kashyyyk

De track is vernoemd naar de planeet van de Wookies in Star Wars. En daar doet het nummer me ook aan denken. Eindeloos veel lagen, sfeer en diepte.

Was het nou Mario Basanov of Ten Walls?

KÖLSCH - Oma

Holi Festival India

Je kent Kölsch van tracks als Opa, Loreley en zelfs Calabria, de plaat die we 6 jaar geleden gaaf vonden. 

Op z'n nieuwste album, 1977, staat een mengelmoes van house, trance en techno. "Oma" is verreweg de gaafste track en heeft die herkenbare Kölsch-sound. 

Dit wordt een festival knaller.

MAKSON - Oeuvre

This is one of those tracks that you listen to from start to finish every single time. "Oeuvre" is one of the deepest and most impressive tracks I've come across this year so far. And that's saying something.

Favorietje van Bolle Bertus

ROD at Poema, Utrecht 29.04.13

ROD draait met een bepaald soort schwung of vuur. Zijn sets barsten altijd van de energie en deze is geen uitzondering. 

De hele set is top, het begin, het middenstuk maar vooral het grimmige einde. 

Herken je deze nog? Die komt rond 37:35 even voorbij. 

10DENS Live at Bergwacht 02.10.12

De mannen van 10dens hebben een hele dromerige sound. Soms wat somber, soms wat vrolijk, maar goddomme wat gaaf. 

Twee Nederlandse dj's die compleet hun eigen sound hebben en alleen eigen tracks draaien.

Deze liveset is een aanrader. 

HOT SINCE 82 - Don't Be Afraid

Een house bom van Hot Since 82.

Lekker donker en een beetje vies, maar oh zo groovy.

OLIVER HUNTEMANN at Cocoon Ibiza

Oliver Huntemann met een hele dikke techno set. Rollende basslines en veel drums, gave stijl. 

Een van jullie postte al eens een plaat van hem op m'n blog: favorietje van M. (Oliver Huntemann - Magnet). 

Huntemann's producties zijn eersteklas, Maar zijn sets zijn ook het luisteren waard. 

De eerste plaat vind ik zo tof. Hele aparte en brute groove. Een soort elektronische kettingzaag.

Een uurtje vol prima techno.
